Loading Dock (1st Shift Fort Wayne)

This position will report directly to the Material Handling Supervisor and be responsible for loading/wrapping furniture carefully and timely. They will also be responsible for driving industrial tuggers throughout the facility with a focus on personal safety, the safety of others, and continuous improvement initiatives. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Possess desire and ambition to work safely and efficiently and report all work hazards immediately. Load furniture onto trailer using correct lifting techniques. Correctly load furniture in numerical order. Scan furniture as they are being loaded accurately. Work with materials such as tape guns, cardboard, and plastic coverings. Examine furniture to identify any defects. Work with a team of co-workers in the safest most efficient manner possible. Discuss complications or department slowdowns with supervisors and brainstorm solutions for increased productivity. Work with quality department to repair any defects. Driving industrial tuggers throughout the facility to transport furniture. All other duties as assigned.
