Liquor store Manager

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Liquor Store Manager to lead our retail operations with enthusiasm and expertise. In this role, you will oversee daily store activities, manage a motivated sales team, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain optimal inventory levels. Duties Lead and supervise the retail sales team, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to foster a high-performing environment. Manage all aspects of store operations including inventory control, merchandising, pricing strategies, and stock replenishment to maximize sales opportunities. Oversee customer service standards to ensure a positive shopping experience that encourages repeat business. Handle purchasing decisions, negotiate with vendors, and coordinate procurement processes to maintain product availability and profitability. Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, cash handling, and sales reporting while ensuring accuracy in cashiering and payroll processing. Implement effective inventory management practices to reduce shrinkage, track stock levels, and conduct regular audits. Supervise opening and closing procedures, manage shift schedules, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Recruit new team members through interviewing and onboarding processes; facilitate ongoing employee orientation and development initiatives. Maintain organizational records including bookkeeping tasks, sales reports, budgeting documents, and store documentation. Communicate clearly with staff through managerial channels to promote teamwork, resolve conflicts, and support operational goals. Qualifications Proven management experience within the retail industry, particularly in sales team supervision or store management roles. Strong knowledge of retail math including pricing strategies, sales analysis, inventory control, and budgeting. Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases. Demonstrated proficiency with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic bookkeeping practices. Experience in negotiating with vendors and managing purchasing processes effectively. Supervising experience with a focus on employee training & development; ability to motivate teams toward shared goals. Familiarity with retail industry sales techniques such as merchandising, stocking procedures, and promotional planning. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of operational management practices including shift management, customer service standards, and safety protocols. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing; experience in managerial communication is essential.
