Licensed Customs Broker — Entry Writing & Trade Compliance
Kartash LogisticsJob Summary We are seeking a Licensed U.S. Customs Broker to join our team and play a key role in managing customs clearance operations while ensuring full compliance with U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agency (PGA) regulations. The Licensed Customs Broker will be responsible for overseeing and executing customs entry processes, ensuring accurate classification, valuation, and admissibility of imported merchandise. This role requires a strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification, and FDA requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compliance-driven, and experienced in handling a high volume of entries with minimal errors Responsibilities Prepare, review, and submit customs entries (Entry Type 01, 03, 06, 11, etc.) in compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations Accurately classify merchandise using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS) and determine applicable duties, taxes, and fees Ensure proper valuation, country of origin determination, and compliance with special trade programs (USMCA, GSP, etc.) Review and analyze commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other shipping documents for accuracy and compliance Handle FDA-regulated products, including correct FDA classification, product codes, Prior Notice, and admissibility requirements Communicate directly with CBP, FDA, and other Partner Government Agencies to resolve holds, exams, and compliance issues Provide guidance to clients and internal staff on customs regulations, import requirements, and compliance best practices Identify potential compliance risks and assist in corrective actions, post-entry amendments, protests, and disclosures when necessary Maintain accurate records in accordance with CBP recordkeeping requirements Stay current with changes in customs laws, regulations, tariff updates, and PGA requirements Active U.S. Customs Broker License (required) Experience Proven experience as an Entry Writer with a thorough understanding of customs procedures and regulations. Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, FDA regulations, freight logistics, supply chain management, and transportation protocols. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and record keeping. Ability to stay current with evolving regulations affecting international trade and customs compliance. This role is integral to maintaining efficient import/export operations while ensuring full regulatory compliance across all facets of the supply chain process.
