Lead White Glove Installer / Warehouse
Ambiente Modern FurnitureOverview Ambiente Modern Furniture is a third-generation, family-owned contemporary furniture store in Raleigh. We've been delivering high-end furniture into clients' homes since 1984, and we're hiring a Lead White Glove Installer to run one of our two delivery crews. This is the senior role on the truck. You lead the crew, you're the face of Ambiente in the client's home, and you own the outcome of every delivery: done safely, done right, and done to our white glove standard. When you're not on the road, you're working alongside our Furniture Operations Supervisor in the warehouse handling, inspecting, and staging high-value furniture. What you'll do Lead every delivery and installation: plan the sequence of work, direct and coach your Associate, and do the final quality check before leaving. Be the client's point of contact on site. Walk the plan with them before unloading, confirm placement, and handle questions and concerns. Assemble, inspect, and prepare each piece in the warehouse, load the truck strategically, and sign off on order accuracy before you leave. Install to spec: wall units, beds, sectionals, motion mechanisms, wall-mounted pieces, and lighting. Make sound calls on site (work sequence, floor and wall protection, same-room placement changes, minor touch-ups) and escalate the rest to the Furniture Operations Supervisor. Photograph every piece in its final position, get the client's signature, and submit complete paperwork the same day. Receive and inspect incoming freight, repack, put away, and stage orders. Keep the warehouse clean and organized and flag inventory discrepancies and damage trends. Share driving of our 16–20 ft box trucks, complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections, and follow all DOT and FMCSA rules. What we're looking for 3+ years in furniture delivery, professional installation, warehouse operations, or logistics. White glove or high-value product experience strongly preferred. Experience leading a crew, training others, or being the senior person on a delivery team. Hands-on furniture assembly experience and confidence with hand and power tools, including wall anchoring and leveling. Ability to read diagrams, plans, and assembly instructions. Communicates clearly with clients and teammates in English, written and spoken. Comfortable with a warehouse management system and basic computer applications. Calm under pressure, well organized, and dependable. High school diploma or GED. Driving requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (verified before hire) and the ability to meet our commercial auto insurer's driver requirements. Proven ability to safely operate a 16–20 ft box truck. A CDL is not required. Ability to obtain and keep a DOT medical card if required. Offers are contingent on a background check. Physical demands This is a physically demanding job. Expect frequent team lifting of items over 100 lbs, carrying up to 50 lbs unassisted (including on stairs), and constant walking, standing, squatting, climbing, bending, and reaching, often in tight spaces and on uneven surfaces. You'll use hand trucks, pallet jacks, and similar equipment regularly. Warehouse and job-site conditions can be hot, cold, or damp. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.
