Lead/ Inventory Clerk

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Dispensary Associate to join our team in Long Beach. This role bridges customer-facing retail service with back-of-house operational support. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced retail setting, excels at customer engagement, and brings hands-on experience with Metrc compliance tracking and specialized cannabis Point-of-Sale (POS) software. Key ResponsibilitiesSales Floor & Customer Service Customer Education & Service: Greet every customer with a warm, professional demeanor. Listen actively to their needs and offer tailored product recommendations across various categories (flower, edibles, tinctures, concentrates, topicals, etc.). Compliance & POS Transactions: Rigorously verify age and legal customer ID prior to entry and checkout. Accurately process cash and debit transactions using our cannabis POS system while enforcing daily California purchasing limits. Product Knowledge: Maintain expert knowledge of our live inventory menu, including strains, cannabinoid profiles, terpenes, dosages, and administration methods. Store Upkeep: Maintain a clean, safe, fully organized, and visually appealing retail sales floor and display environment. Back-of-House & Inventory Operations Metrc Tracking & Audit: Perform daily/weekly physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock reconciliations directly utilizing Metrc (state seed-to-sale tracking system) and integrated store POS software. Receiving & Intake: Assist with receiving incoming deliveries, checking physical product manifests and invoices against Metrc intake records, and inspecting goods for damage or labeling errors. Floor Replenishment: Keep the retail sales floor, pickup orders, and display cases neatly stocked and organized throughout the shift. Discrepancy Reporting: Immediately identify and escalate any inventory variances, package breakdown issues, or Metrc sync errors to management. Requirements & Qualifications Metrc & Cannabis Software Proficiency (Required): Hands-on experience working with Metrc state tracking systems. Proven expertise with cannabis POS platforms (e.g., Treez, Dutchie, BLAZE, Meadow, Flowhub). Age & Legal Compliance: Must be 21+ years of age and meet all California state and local Long Beach requirements for cannabis employment. Experience: 1+ years in cannabis retail, budtending, or dispensary inventory management strongly preferred. Attention to Detail: Meticulous math and organizational skills to prevent compliance flags, miscounts, or stock discrepancies. Communication: Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor. Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and periodically lift up to 50 lbs. Availability: Flexible schedule required, including evening, weekend, and holiday availability. Reliable transportation is mandatory.
