Ambedo HomesLead Interior Designer Ambedo Homes | Calgary, Alberta Full-Time | Hybrid There are places where you can do good work. There are places where you can do great work. But this is where you come to do your best work. At Ambedo Homes, we’re growing, and we’re excited to be bringing interior design in-house for the very first time! We’re looking for a talented, motivated designer to lead our interior design projects and help build the department from the ground up. This is an opportunity to take ownership of your work, bring your ideas to life across our custom homes, and play a meaningful role in shaping the future of design at Ambedo. We’re a small, collaborative team with big plans for the future. We value fresh perspectives, creative thinking, and people who aren’t afraid to challenge the way things have always been done. You’ll work closely with our leadership team to help establish the processes, standards, and direction of our new design department, with opportunities for your role to evolve as the company continues to grow. What You’ll Be Doing You’ll take the lead on our interior design projects, from initial concept through to construction. Your responsibilities will include: Leading client design meetings, selections, and presentations. Developing design concepts, space plans, millwork, and cabinetry details. Preparing design drawings, specifications, and construction documentation. Coordinating with trades, suppliers, and our construction team. Managing design budgets, pricing, sourcing, and procurement. Conducting site visits and resolving design-related challenges. Collaborating with leadership to establish processes, standards, and documentation for our new design department. Who We’re Looking For We’re not necessarily looking for the person with the most experience on paper. We’re looking for someone who brings the right combination of creativity, initiative, and work ethic to the table. Someone who: Takes pride in their work and genuinely cares about the details. Thinks creatively, solves problems, and isn’t afraid to bring new ideas forward. Takes initiative, follows through, and is comfortable working independently. Enjoys working with clients and building strong relationships. Understands how great design translates into real-world construction. Values teamwork, collaboration, and learning from others. Formal design education is an asset, but we equally value hands-on experience and demonstrated ability. Don’t check every box? That’s okay! We know great designers come from different backgrounds, and we’re just as interested in your ideas, attitude, and ability to learn as we are in your experience.
