Last-Mile Dispatch Manager (Toronto / Remote)

Company: ROVER Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM Location: Remote (Must be based in the Greater Toronto Area; open to transitioning to an office environment in the near future) Career Level: Mid-level (With direct advancement opportunity to manage the Toronto market) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and proactive Dispatch Manager to lead our last-mile delivery operations for ROVER in Toronto. In this role, you will be responsible for orchestrating efficient routing, supporting our network of independent drivers, and ensuring an exceptional delivery experience for our clients. This is currently a remote position, but candidates must be located within the Greater Toronto Area and be open to transitioning to an office environment in the near future. This is a mid-level position with significant room for professional growth and the long-term opportunity to completely manage the Toronto market for Rover. Key Responsibilities Route Strategy & Sustainability: Manage the daily dispatch process to ensure drivers are assigned optimal delivery sequences. Focus on maximizing route efficiency while actively reducing our carbon footprint. Contractor Fleet Management: Create, assign, and dynamically manage high-volume delivery routes for our independent driver contractors. Driver Acquisition & Onboarding: Manage the end-to-end driver pipeline by hiring, onboarding, and training new independent drivers through online platforms. Driver Support & Engagement: Build strong driver relationships, foster a positive courier culture, and serve as the main point of contact for new inbound driver requests via phone, email, and live chat. Client & Delivery Success: Actively support both drivers and clients in real time to guarantee that all last-mile deliveries are fulfilled safely and on time. Qualifications & Experience Experience: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a last-mile logistics, courier, or dispatching role. Legal Status: Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident. Geographic Knowledge: Deep, practical knowledge of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and surrounding transit corridors. Technical Proficiency: Comfortable learning and working with multiple software applications, dispatch dashboards, and mobile driver apps. Core Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills paired with top-tier time management and organizational abilities. Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to think critically and work independently under tight delivery windows.
