As a Junior Transportation Planner, you’ll help shape the future of mobility in communities across Canada. If multimodal planning, micromobility, Vision Zero, and designing healthier streets excite you — this role is your gateway to meaningful work with a national team of planners, engineers, designers, and engagement specialists.
Your Impact
• Contribute to multimodal planning and design projects, including active transportation networks, complete streets, and corridor studies.
• Apply spatial analysis and data visualization techniques to support transportation planning decisions.
• Support conceptual and preliminary design using tools such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Prepare drawings, maps, graphics, and visual materials to translate technical recommendations into clear solutions.
• Develop technical memos and reports that communicate findings, insights, and design rationale.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve mobility challenges using best practices and creative problem‑solving.
• Participate in client meetings, workshops, and public engagement activities.
• Conduct fieldwork, including site visits, inventories, and multimodal counts.
• Support a variety of project‑related tasks across planning and engineering assignments.
The Skills That Set You Apart
• A degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation/Urban Planning, or a Civil Engineering Technology diploma (or related discipline).
• Interest in or progress toward P.Eng., RPP, or CET designation.
• 0–2 years of related experience (new graduates welcome).
• Strong technical writing abilities and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with roadway, pedestrian, accessibility, and cycling facility design best practices.
• Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, or MicroStation; familiarity with Synchro, VISSIM, Beyond Typicals, SketchUp, Lumion, or Adobe Creative Suite is an asset.
• Comfortable navigating urban/suburban environments by walking, cycling, or mobility aids.
• Detail‑oriented with a strong desire to learn and grow.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $66,700 – $88,400
MB & ON: $60,900 – $83,800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $60,300 – $80,000
