As a Junior Estimator/Pre-Construction Coordinator they will assist with quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, bid submissions, and the review of construction drawings, specifications, and subcontractor pricing. They will also coordinate tender schedules, proposals, project documentation, and communications with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal project teams. The Junior Estimator/Pre-Construction Coordinator will report directly to the Senior Estimator/Pre-Construction Coordinator. This role is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented early-career professional who brings analytical thinking, clear communication, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines. It offers hands-on experience reviewing drawings, specifications, quantities, costs, and pricing; coordinating bids and project planning; building industry relationships; and receiving mentorship that supports long-term growth in estimating, project management, or construction operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Estimating Support Assist with quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications. Review plans, specifications, addenda, and tender documents. Prepare and maintain bid spreadsheets and estimating templates. Obtain pricing from subcontractors and suppliers. Analyze and compare subcontractor quotations. Assist in developing project budgets and cost estimates. Maintain historical project cost databases. Support bid closings and final bid submissions. Pre-Construction Coordination Coordinate bid opportunities and tender schedules. Track project milestones and submission deadlines. Assist with RFP and proposal preparation. Assemble project qualification packages. Support constructability reviews and value engineering exercises. Coordinate internal pre-construction meetings. Help prepare project schedules and procurement planning documents. Vendor & Subcontractor Relations Develop and maintain subcontractor and supplier databases. Communicate with vendors regarding scope, pricing, and bid requirements. Distribute drawings and tender packages. Track subcontractor participation and responses. Administrative & Document Control Maintain digital project files and document management systems. Organize plans, specifications, and project correspondence. Track project addenda and revisions. Prepare meeting minutes and action item lists. Support contract and procurement documentation. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PROFILE Education Construction Management Civil Engineering Technology Architectural Technology Building Science Quantity Surveying Engineering Technology Related Construction Discipline * Equivalent construction experience may be considered. Experience & Technical Skills 0 to 3 years of experience in construction, estimating, project coordination, engineering, architecture, or related fields. Co-op or internship experience is considered an asset. Experience reviewing construction drawings is preferred but not required.
