Senior Production Scheduler
YesPac IncYESPAC Inc. is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and results-driven Production Scheduler / Coordinator to manage and coordinate daily production schedules, raw material allocation, inventory readiness, and job reconciliation at our Piscataway manufacturing facility. This position plays a critical role in ensuring production runs efficiently, orders are completed on schedule, materials are properly allocated, and production records are accurate. The successful candidate will take ownership of the production planning process, proactively identify potential delays, coordinate with multiple departments, and ensure each production job is properly tracked from scheduling through final reconciliation and closeout. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, understands production workflows and material control, and can balance competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, organization, and accountability in a fast-paced plant. Key Responsibilities 1. Production Scheduling and Planning Develop, coordinate, and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on customer orders, production capacity, staffing, equipment availability, and delivery deadlines. Establish job priorities and sequencing to maximize equipment utilization, minimize downtime, and meet production targets. Communicate production schedules, changes, and priorities clearly to plant management, supervisors, and production teams. Monitor job progress throughout each shift and adjust schedules as needed to address breakdowns, labor shortages, material delays, quality issues, or urgent orders. Identify scheduling conflicts and bottlenecks before they affect production or customer commitments. Maintain accurate scheduling records and provide timely updates on job status and completion. 2. Raw Material Allocation and Inventory Coordination Verify raw material availability before production jobs are released to the floor. Allocate and track raw materials, including plastic and paper materials, packaging supplies, and other production components as applicable. Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and inventory personnel to ensure materials are available in the correct quantities and at the required time. Identify material shortages, discrepancies, and potential supply issues and communicate them promptly to management. Monitor material usage against job requirements and investigate unexplained variances. Help prevent production delays, excess material consumption, and unnecessary waste through effective planning and material control. 3. Job Tracking, Reconciliation, and Closeout Track each production job from scheduling and material issuance through completion and final reconciliation. Reconcile materials issued, actual material consumption, finished goods, scrap, and production quantities against job requirements and production records. Investigate discrepancies between planned and actual production results and coordinate corrective action with the appropriate departments. Verify that production documentation, material transactions, quantities, and job completion records are complete and accurate. Ensure completed jobs are properly closed out in the applicable production management or ERP system. Maintain organized records to support inventory accuracy, production reporting, cost control, and management review. 4. Production Monitoring and Reporting Prepare regular reports on production schedule adherence, job status, material usage, scrap, delays, and completion timelines. Track planned versus actual production performance and identify recurring issues affecting productivity. Escalate significant production delays, material shortages, scheduling conflicts, and reconciliation discrepancies to plant management. Maintain accurate production data to support operational decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
