We are currently recruiting individuals who possess the skill, attitude, and passion to join a growing team in Calgary, Alberta as a Junior Data Center Operations Technician . About the Role Entry-level position supporting day-to-day data center operations. We seek a detail-oriented, technically curious candidate eager to build a career in data center infrastructure. No expert experience required—just a strong technical foundation, willingness to learn, and high accuracy. · Schedule: 24/7 environment (day, night, weekend shifts, and occasional on-call). Key Responsibilities Hardware & Cabling: Assist with installing, racking, powering, cabling, moving, and decommissioning servers, storage, switches, and patch panels (copper/fiber). Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform basic hardware/network troubleshooting, replace field-replaceable components, and assist senior technicians with complex issues. Inspections & Monitoring: Conduct visual inspections to spot alarms, damaged components, loose connections, or cabling issues. Ticketing & Asset Management: Log tasks in ticketing systems, stage equipment, and maintain precise records of serial numbers, asset tags, and equipment locations. Logistics & Decommissioning: Handle shipping, receiving, vendor RMAs, and inventory tracking for incoming and retired hardware. Compliance & Escalation: Follow safety, security, and change management procedures; escalate issues exceeding your current experience level. Basic Qualifications Interest or background in computer hardware, networking, telecommunications, or electronics. Basic understanding of hardware components, Ethernet, TCP/IP, IP addressing, and troubleshooting techniques. High attention to detail with the ability to precisely follow written technical procedures and record data. Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions when instructions are unclear. Ability to safely lift and move equipment up to 75 lbs. Flexibility to work shift rotations in a 24/7 environment. Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience building, repairing, or upgrading PCs/servers. Prior experience with structured cabling (patching, labeling, testing copper/fiber). Familiarity with ticketing systems, asset tracking tools, inventory management, or spreadsheets. Basic knowledge of major server and networking hardware vendors.
