Overall Requirements:
Currently, we are searching for a Junior Buyer to participate in the procurement of materials and services help further the company’s vision and to support the Supply Chain Department. This role requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the acquisition of materials and services according to operations requirements, obtaining the best total cost of ownership, terms of execution and quality conditions.
- Provide suggestions to improve transactional practices for activities related to the materials and services purchasing process.
- Proactively resolve complex issues and demonstrate innovative thinking by making recommendations to the purchasing process.
- Support contracting needs and help identify and develop suppliers to support operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with both internal customers and external suppliers.
- Collaborate with Inventory Control and Warehouse to ensure there are no stock outs and no financial loss to the operation due to issues with Supply Chain.
- Support the continuous improvement and execution of the purchasing strategy, policies and guidelines regarding materials categories and contracts, cost savings and other performance metrics.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all corporate information
- Adhere to all Corporate policies, procedures and guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills using office software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to be an integral team member in a growing, fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal, written communication skills with the ability to communicate and interact effectively with a wide variety of people
- Strong influencing skills
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills & the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of end-to-end supply management processes including competitive bidding, contract management and supplier performance management
- Autonomous, experienced negotiation skills, conflict resolution, able to manage a high volume of work with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Successful completion of the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) an asset
- High ethical standards
