JOB SUMMARY 

The basic function of the Warehouse Supervisor is to organize and manage personnel performing all aspects of warehouse operation. This includes receiving product into the warehouse, organizing the product and preparing it for delivery to customers and/or installers as well as maintaining the overall cleanliness and appearance of the entire store facility.

Requirements

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinate the warehouse team to safely and efficiently load materials.
  • Assist with any material or sundries questions that may arise.
  • Coordinate the job packing process according to the next day’s schedule and stage the outracks.
  • Coordinate the logistics of will calling materials as per the receiving schedule
  • Oversee vendor deliveries for the receiving of shipments and tagging of the material
  • Troubleshoot material issues as they arise and resolve with the purchasing team
  • Conduct material inventory counts and check on aging materials to validate if order is still good
  • Maintain and service the forklifts and other equipment.
  • Organize the overall appearance of the racks and warehouse; maintain a clean and safe warehouse.
  • Label and assign areas as necessary to facilitate optimum organization and efficiencies
  • Maintain the carpet “color wall” and pallet displays consistent with company guidelines.
  • Responsible for assigning daily tasks and work schedules for the Warehouse associates.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS  

Required Qualifications

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Ability to present and articulate points clearly and effectively. 
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Must consistently meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proactive communication is essential in this role.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Punctual and reliable attendance.
  • Computer literate and proficient in MS Office – Excel, Outlook, Word.
  • Clean driving record, valid driver's license, and auto insurance are required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse environment
  • At least 2 years of forklift experience is required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must possess the ability to stand for extended periods of time; to reach with hands and arms; to move among the warehouse; to handle tools and parts; to sit, stoop, kneel and crouch; to lift and move up to 50 pounds; to see well enough to discern differences in quality of products.
    •  Mobility: Frequently required to move throughout the office, warehouse, or job site to access materials, equipment, or files.
    • Lifting/Carrying: Frequently lifts and/or moves items weighing up to 50 pounds.
    • Positioning: May be required to position oneself to inspect, maintain, or install materials, including stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
    • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate and exchange accurate information with customers and team members, including in busy or noisy environments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.


Warehouse: exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and fumes. Requires use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, high-visibility apparel, safety gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
