Inventory Specialist – New Dispensary Launch Company: SUMMIT Cannabis Dispensary Location: Staten Island, NY, 10305 Compensation: $20–$23 per hour Job Type: Full-time / Part-time Industry: Cannabis Retail About the Position SUMMIT Cannabis Dispensary is a newly opened retail cannabis dispensary in Staten Island, NY. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Inventory Specialist to help establish and manage our inventory operations from the ground up. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to play an active role in building the inventory management framework of a new dispensary. The successful candidate will help develop our initial product catalog, establish SKU and product organization standards, implement inventory control procedures, and maintain accurate inventory records using Dutchie POS and New York State Metrc. We are looking for someone who is proactive, organized, comfortable working with inventory systems, and capable of building efficient processes in a new retail environment. *Inventory Specialists with experience at other dispensaries is preferred * Key Responsibilities 1. Initial Inventory Setup & Product Catalog Development Build and organize the dispensary's initial product catalog within Dutchie POS. Create and maintain product listings, including product names, categories, brands, descriptions, product types, sizes, and pricing information. Establish a consistent SKU naming and product categorization structure. Organize products into appropriate retail categories, including flower, pre-rolls, vapes, concentrates, edibles, beverages, tinctures, and accessories. Upload and organize product images, descriptions, and relevant product information. Establish the initial inventory tracking framework and standard operating procedures. Coordinate with management to ensure product listings, pricing, and inventory information are accurate before products go live. 2. Inventory Management & Control Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels across all product categories. Establish daily inventory monitoring, cycle counting, and scheduled physical inventory audit procedures. Track product movement, transfers, adjustments, and inventory depletion. Identify inventory discrepancies, shortages, damaged products, and expiration dates. Maintain organized inventory storage and proper product labeling. Develop inventory organization standards to support efficient store operations. 3. Receiving & Vendor Coordination Receive incoming merchandise and verify quantities against purchase orders and invoices. Inspect products for accuracy, packaging integrity, labeling, and compliance documentation. Verify product information, batch numbers, package IDs, and quantities. Coordinate with vendors regarding deliveries, discrepancies, returns, and missing items. Ensure received products are accurately recorded and reconciled before being made available for sale. 4. Dutchie POS & Metrc Inventory Compliance Manage and maintain product and inventory information within Dutchie POS. Maintain accurate inventory records through New York State Metrc. Verify SKU information, package IDs, batch numbers, quantities, and product details. Assist with inventory reconciliation between Dutchie POS and Metrc. Ensure inventory transactions and adjustments are properly documented and reconciled. Identify and report discrepancies or potential compliance issues to management immediately. Follow applicable New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) inventory tracking requirements. 5. Inventory Planning & Replenishment Monitor fast-moving and slow-moving products. Prepare inventory reports to identify sales trends and replenishment needs.
