About the Position The inventory manager directs and coordinates activities of the Inventory department of our food-grade logistics operation by performing the following duties personally or through direct reports: reporting inventory performance, managing life-cycle of food products across operation, coaching & developing associates, and managing customer relationship. Functions Maintain the Inventory Control Plan & monitor control measures Review weekly adjustments and cycle bin moves Research discrepancies via root cause analysis Monitor & respond to cycle counting reports. Ensure accuracy and consistency of daily operational reports Work Instruction and Standard Work maintenance and approval Make sure equipment availability is optimal (repairs, missing, etc) Maintains departmental staffing at appropriate levels Using performance management to set goals and objectives for all direct reports, and performing quarterly reviews. Develop a Safety First – Lean Culture which focuses on Continuous Improvement. Work closely with the customer, developing a strong partnership. Conducts weekly Inventory Control meetings with the leadership team. Execute the cycle count program as it relates to the Physical Inventory Exemption program Assists as needed in reprofiling projects Delegates duties to subordinate managers and supervisors Implements plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals Works as a team player Mentors personnel on management/leadership skills to foster an environment conducive to teambuilding Works to achieve harmonic balance within highly diversified workforce Qualifications Bachelor's degree in management, logistics, or engineering from four-year college or university; seven- to ten-years’ experience in logistics or manufacturing management; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Previous experience in 3rd party logistics food-grade operation Six Sigma & Lean experience leading Continuous Improvement efforts across operations daily Knowledge of advanced distribution/WMS systems such as SAP & EWM Proven experience managing and leading a team of front line warehouse associates Strong verbal communications skills Safety leadership experience Competencies Business Acumen - Knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology, and information affecting his/her business and organization. Communicate for Impact - Devoting the time and resources necessary to communicate the strategic vision, direction, priorities, and progress of the team for which you are responsible.
