Shipping Supervisor
Quality Electrical SystemsOverview Responsible for supervising the shipping team to ensure all shipping tasks are performed accurately, safely, and efficiently. This role oversees training, documentation, equipment operation, and compliance, while supporting daily operations and management objectives. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Oversee the shipping team’s training and execution in locating products from production areas to the shipping staging area, including photographing prepackaged products Ensure the team validates wrapping and packaging according to shipping requirements for safe transit Ensure the team photographs wrapped products and documents weights and dimensions of each pallet Maintain forklift and crane certifications and train the shipping team in their safe operation Oversee training for building crates and pallets for proper shipping Ensure proper loading of gear and miscellaneous products into dry van or flatbed trailers and proper securing with ratchet straps Monitor and ensure L2L shipping dispatches meet a 48hour turnaround Train the team in creating itemized packing slips and Bills of Lading for all outgoing freight Train staff in small parcel shipments through UPS WorldShip and proper logging of shipments with pricing and tracking Ensure driver logs, pretrip inspections, signed packing slips, and Bills of Lading are filed appropriately Oversee training in applying freight signage and organizing job pictures into folders per Sales Orders on the server Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shipping area using 5S standards Perform quarterly employee reviews and oversee timecard accuracy Analyze daily operations and support other management team members Report any safety or OSHA violations to the safety team Perform other related tasks as required ________________________________________ Knowledge and Experience Requirements Education equivalent to a high school diploma Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience Knowledge of basic mathematics and ability to apply it in work situations Ability to read and understand written instructions ________________________________________ Core Competencies & Skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Ability to train and develop team members effectively Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Physical capability for climbing (ladders, stairs), writing, sitting, standing, bending, reading, and extended periods of walking Visual acuity and awareness in noisy environments Exposure to chemical vapors and outdoor/weather conditions Proficiency in operating shipping equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and cranes ________________________________________ Benefits: We offer a competitive benefits package that includes: 401(k) with company match Paid Time Off (PTO) Medical, dental, and vision insurance HSA, HRA, and FSA options Life and disability insurance Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Telehealth and wellness resources Additional voluntary benefit options available About Quality Electrical Systems Quality Electrical Systems is an electrical equipment manufacturer in West Jordan, UT.
