Today we have two manufacturing facilities in Massachusetts and North Carolina. Job Summary: The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy throughout the facility through cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, inventory analysis, and variance investigation. This position serves as the primary resource for inventory counting activities and works closely with Warehouse, Production, Purchasing, and Finance teams to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies. The Inventory Control Specialist plays a critical role in supporting inventory integrity and ensuring inventory records accurately reflect physical inventory. Key Responsibilities: Execute daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts of raw materials, packaging, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods inventories. Must be available to work flexible hours as needed. Ensure cycle counts are completed according to established schedules and procedures. Verify count accuracy and investigate inventory variances. Conduct location audits and inventory verification activities. Assist in annual and periodic physical inventories. Reconciliation & Variance Investigation Research and reconcile inventory discrepancies. Analyze inventory variances and identify root causes. Verify inventory transactions for accuracy and completeness. Process and document approved inventory adjustments. Partner with warehouse and production personnel to correct inventory issues. Monitor recurring inventory issues and recommend corrective actions. Inventory Reporting & Analysis Generate daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports. Analyze inventory trends and identify opportunities to improve accuracy. Monitor inventory adjustment activity and variance trends. Track inventory performance metrics and communicate findings to leadership. Assist with month-end inventory reconciliation activities. Auditing & Compliance Perform inventory audits of warehouse locations and transactions. Verify compliance with inventory control procedures. Review receiving, production, and shipping transactions for accuracy. Support internal and external audits. Maintain detailed inventory investigation records and documentation. Continuous Improvement Recommend process improvements to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency. Assist in development and maintenance of inventory standard operating procedures. Support inventory control projects and warehouse process improvements. Train employees on proper inventory transaction processes when needed EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate degree preferred; equivalent experience considered. 3-5 years of inventory control, cycle counting, warehouse, or supply chain experience. Manufacturing experience strongly preferred. Experience with ERP/WMS systems. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Must be able to operate a forklift and be forklift certified or willing to become certified. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to analyze large amounts of inventory data. Strong communication and organizational skills. Food manufacturing experience preferred.
