Inventory Control Specialist
Port City LogisticsOverview: To help in overseeing accuracy of customer inventory, to inspect inventory, to perform inventory audits to look for any discrepancies between our physical inventory and our records, to maintain accurate inventory records, to investigate inventory discrepancies, to communicate inventory levels and any discrepancies to management in a timely manner, and to create reports as requested. Essential Responsibilities: 1. Conducting inventory counting processes to ensure accuracy of customer inventory 2. Training warehouse staff in stocking procedures 3. Communicating with warehouse management about any inventory issues that arise if products are missing or damaged within a shipment 4. Managing and maintaining inventory records using various tools, such as a digital inventory management software system 5. Ensures that received material is in the proper storage location; performs tagging, repacking, delivering and special handling as necessary 6. Maintains inventory accuracy by count and location; replaces labels/barcodes and processes relocations in WMS 7. Performs cycle counts and report stock balance discrepancies to Manager 8. Support corporate initiatives and assist with any special projects assignments as required 9. Ensure compliance with established internal control procedures and SOPs 10. Operating a cherry/order picker and a stand-up forklift Non-Essential Responsibilities: 1. Other duties as assigned Environment 1. Extreme Temperatures – Seasonally, employees may experience heat, cold, and extreme temperatures 2. Wetness and/or Humidity – Seasonally, employees may experience bodily discomfort from moisture 3. Noise and Vibration – Often (daily) employees may experience noise and/or vibration sufficient to cause hearing loss 4. Physical Hazards – Frequently (daily or several times per week) employees may experience exposure to dangerous machinery This position requires the ability to be on your feet, stationary or walking, for the majority of each day; to move throughout the warehouse on foot; and, to assist team members in maneuvering inventory when necessary. There will be extended periods of time lifting, moving, stacking and/or un-stacking customer products to/from the floor level, to/from an average table surface height, and/or to/from a height above head level. Physical stamina is very important in this position. One must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 75 lbs.
