Inventory Control Manager
Food Source InternationalSummary/Objective: The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for overseeing inventory accuracy, receiving transactions, inventory reconciliation, and inventory control processes across all company locations and third-party warehouse partners. This position provides leadership to Receiving and Inventory Specialists and warehouse Inventory Clerks, ensuring accurate inventory records, consistent procedures, and accountability throughout the inventory function. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who can identify root causes of inventory discrepancies, implement sustainable corrective actions, develop best practices, and drive continuous improvement across the organization. Essential Functions: The Inventory Control Manager's primary responsibilities include: Oversee inventory control activities across company locations and thirdparty warehouses, ensuring inventory accuracy, accountability, and compliance with established procedures. Manage receiving transactions, inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, physical inventory reviews, and inventory adjustments. Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues. Ensure accurate recording of raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and finished goods within the ERP system, including lot tracking, expiration dates, and material traceability. Develop and implement standardized inventory control procedures, internal controls, and process improvements. Partner with Warehouse Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Production, Quality Assurance, and Finance to resolve inventory issues and improve operational efficiency. Coordinate with Quality Assurance regarding material holds, shelflife extensions, and nonconforming inventory. Ensure inventory adjustments and writeoffs are properly documented and approved in accordance with company procedures. Develop inventory accuracy metrics, monitor performance, and provide regular reporting to management. Support inventory audits, financial reconciliations, and applicable food safety and quality requirements. Perform other related duties and projects as assigned. Leadership and Employee Management: Directly supervise Receiving and Inventory Specialists and warehouse Inventory Clerks across assigned company locations. Establish clear responsibilities, performance expectations, and accountability for inventory personnel. Provide ongoing training, coaching, and development to ensure employees understand inventory procedures and documentation requirements. Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address performance concerns in coordination with Human Resources. Ensure all disciplinary actions and employmentrelated decisions are reviewed and approved by Human Resources in accordance with company procedures. Establish crosstraining and backup coverage to ensure continuity of inventory operations. Monitor workloads, prioritize assignments, and ensure responsibilities are completed accurately and timely. Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Coordinate with Warehouse Management regarding operational priorities and inventoryrelated activities. Ensure inventory personnel understand and follow applicable food safety, quality, and material traceability procedures. Experience Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory control, inventory management, supply chain, or a related manufacturing environment. Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience. Experience with inventory reconciliation, cycle counting, discrepancy investigation, and corrective action implementation. Proficiency with ERP systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and Microsoft Excel. Experience in food manufacturing, ingredient processing, or a related industry preferred.
