Motive CompaniesInventory Coordinator Position Overview Our client is a leading luxury home furnishings, staging, and design company with a large-scale warehouse operation supporting projects nationwide. The organization manages an extensive inventory of furniture, artwork, rugs, lighting, accessories, and décor that moves continuously between warehouse locations and client projects. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Coordinator to support inventory accuracy and day-to-day warehouse operations. This position will be responsible for tracking inventory movement, maintaining accurate system records, assisting with physical inventory counts, researching discrepancies, and coordinating with warehouse and operations teams to ensure inventory is properly accounted for and available when needed. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, furniture distribution, retail distribution, or a similar high-volume environment. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate inventory records for furniture, décor, accessories, artwork, rugs, lighting, and other warehouse inventory Track inventory as items are received, stored, transferred, allocated, returned, or moved between locations Enter and update inventory information within the company's inventory management system Perform routine cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits Research and reconcile inventory discrepancies between physical counts and system records Verify item numbers, quantities, descriptions, locations, and inventory status Assist with receiving and ensure incoming merchandise is accurately documented and entered into inventory Coordinate inventory transfers and movement between warehouse areas, projects, and locations Confirm returned inventory is properly accounted for and returned to the correct warehouse location Identify missing, damaged, incorrectly located, or improperly recorded inventory and communicate discrepancies to management Work closely with warehouse, logistics, purchasing, design, and operations teams to resolve inventory questions Maintain organized inventory documentation and supporting records Assist warehouse teams in locating inventory needed for upcoming orders, installations, or projects Support order and inventory adjustments as necessary Help improve inventory accuracy, organization, and overall warehouse efficiency Follow established warehouse procedures and safety standards Provide general administrative and operational support to the inventory and warehouse teams as needed Qualifications 1-3+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, distribution, receiving, or a related environment preferred Experience working with physical inventory in a warehouse or distribution environment Furniture, home furnishings, retail distribution, staging, or related industry experience is a plus Comfortable using inventory management, warehouse management, ERP, or similar systems Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and data entry Ability to perform cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and follow-through skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced warehouse environment Strong communication skills and ability to work across warehouse and office teams Comfortable working both at a computer and within an active warehouse environment High school diploma or equivalent required Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate understands that inventory accuracy directly impacts warehouse efficiency and customer service. They are comfortable moving between administrative work and the warehouse floor, can quickly identify discrepancies, and take ownership of resolving inventory issues rather than simply recording them. Experience handling furniture, home furnishings, décor, or other high-SKU inventory is especially valuable.
