Top AcesThe International Transportation Manager is responsible for building, operating, and continuously improving the company’s global transportation network in support of international programs and EU operations. This position owns the end-to-end process for moving materials including aircraft parts, engines, tooling, hazardous goods, and critical/AOG shipments, across borders efficiently, compliantly, and reliably. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Define, implement, and maintain international transportation processes, procedures, and standards. Establish required handoffs, communication flows, and control points with Trade Compliance, Supply Chain, Logistics, and program operations. Implement transportation reporting, shipment visibility tools, cost tracking methods, and supplier performance metrics. Identify preferred shipping routes and transportation lanes supporting scheduled freight, consolidated loads, hazardous material shipments, and AOG/critical movements. Develop consolidation strategies to reduce cost, accelerate delivery, and strengthen shipping predictability. Source, evaluate, select, and manage freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and specialized transportation providers. Build and maintain a compliant, reliable transportation supplier base supporting multi-country operations. Coordinate international transportation requirements for engines, oversized cargo, dangerous goods, and specialized movements. Create and maintain escalation procedures and rapid response plans for urgent, delayed, or disrupted shipments. Serve as the accountable owner for transportation planning and execution supporting program operations. Ensure compliance with FAA, DOD, ITAR, and other regulatory requirements or contractual supply chain and material handling requirements. Oversee the handling, tracking, and shipment of hazardous or controlled materials in compliance with applicable laws. Support audits, inventory reconciliations, and reporting requirements. Perform related duties as assigned. SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS Strong communication and coordination skills across cross-functional internal teams and external vendors. Adaptability to listen, analyze, and convey new solutions to drive project performance and client satisfaction results. Strong understanding of customs, ITAR (import/export) regulations, and hazardous material requirements. Proven ability to manage freight forwarders, carriers, and customs-broker networks. Demonstrated success designing transportation lanes and consolidation strategies. Strong understanding of Incoterms 2020. Working knowledge of the Harmonized System and Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States. Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-paced, high-demand, regulated environment. Demonstrate the ability to work independently consistently modeling adherence to established procedures, instructions, and standard accepted practices to support team consistency and operational integrity. Proficient in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while fostering a positive attitude. Must have strong problem-solving abilities. Must demonstrate safe and healthy workplace practices. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Must be able to travel within the US and internationally. Must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities of International Transportation Manager in daily work performance. Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and not be barred from any installation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
