Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented, energetic Intermodal Customer Service Representative to act as the primary liaison between our customers, dispatchers, ocean/rail terminals, and internal operations teams. You will manage container tracking milestones, handle high-volume communications, schedule pickup and delivery appointments, and resolve day-to-day freight exceptions in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Customer Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients regarding container status, load tenders, rate requests, and delivery updates. Dispatch & Terminal Coordination: Work closely with dispatchers to coordinate drayage movements, port/rail appointments, and pre-pulls. Milestone Tracking: Monitor containers through ocean/rail ramp websites, track live shipment milestones, and proactively report delays or customs holds. Documentation & Billing Support: Process Bills of Lading (BOLs), delivery orders, equipment interchanges, and assist with charge/per-diem tracking. Problem Solving: Resolve service recovery issues, chassis shortages, terminal congestion, or damaged equipment concerns calmly and efficiently. Qualifications & Skills Experience: 1–3 years of experience in transportation, intermodal trucking, port drayage, or 3PL logistics preferred. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with intermodal concepts (load tenders, booking numbers, per diem, steamship lines, and container types) is a strong plus. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle heavy, fast-paced phone and email volume. Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word), TMS (Transportation Management Software), and industry tracking portals. Organization: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure. Education: High school diploma required; college degree or logistics coursework is a bonus.
