Interior Designer (Intermediate/Senior)

About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced, technically proficient Interior Designer to work closely with our Founder and Principal Designer, Becca Meyer. This is an opportunity for a well-rounded designer who brings strong technical expertise, creative sensibility and the confidence to independently manage projects from design development through installation. Working alongside Becca, you'll play an integral role in translating the studio's creative vision into beautifully executed interiors, taking ownership of design development, technical documentation and day-to-day project coordination. You'll serve as a key point of contact for clients, contractors and vendors, ensuring projects move forward with clarity, organization and attention to detail. This is a particularly exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact. As a foundational member of our growing design team, you'll have the opportunity to help shape studio processes, take on increasing responsibility and potentially grow into a leadership role as we continue to expand. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Marin County, offering significant flexibility to work remotely. Approximately 1–2 days per week will involve site visits, client presentations, vendor meetings and other in-person project needs. About You You are drawn to warm, layered, livable interiors and understand how thoughtful details, materiality, proportion, and craftsmanship shape the feeling of a home. You're just as confident producing detailed technical drawings in AutoCAD as you are developing thoughtful design concepts, selecting materials and bringing a creative vision to life. You take ownership of your work, anticipate project needs and have the experience and judgment to move projects forward independently without constant direction. You are highly organized and comfortable managing multiple projects at various stages, balancing competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines. You are proactive and solutions-oriented, approaching challenges with resourcefulness, sound judgment and thoughtful recommendations rather than simply identifying problems. You have a refined design sensibility and enjoy contributing creative ideas while collaborating closely with a principal who provides the overarching creative vision. You are a personable communicator who builds strong relationships with clients, contractors and vendors and confidently represents the studio. You are adaptable, collaborative and entrepreneurial, excited to roll up your sleeves, help shape a growing studio and take on increasing responsibility as the team expands. Key Responsibilities Collaborate closely with the Principal Designer across all project phases, translating creative direction into thoughtful, cohesive and beautifully executed interiors. Take ownership of assigned projects and major project workstreams, managing design development, technical execution and day-to-day coordination from concept through installation. Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including detailed floor plans, interior elevations, cabinetry and millwork drawings, kitchen and bath layouts, lighting and finish plans, schedules and specifications. Source and specify furnishings, fixtures, finishes and materials aligned with the BB Meyer Design aesthetic, developing design concepts and preparing compelling client presentations. Serve as a key point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, trades and vendors, confidently communicating design intent, resolving technical challenges and coordinating project details. Manage multiple projects in various stages of development, proactively anticipating next steps, establishing priorities and ensuring deadlines and deliverables remain on track.
