We’re growing, and we’re looking for an experienced inside sales generalist who knows lumber and millwork, likes solving customers’ problems, and wants a role with room to grow. You’ll learn to sell everything we carry, and once you know the full line, you’ll have the chance to make our Benjamin Moore paint department your focus. You won’t be a number here. You’ll know your customers by name, help shape how we serve them, and have a direct line to the people who run the company. Industry presence: Represent Godsey at regional trade association meetings and home shows, and build your network in the local building industry. WHAT YOU’LL DO Help customers and close sales Be the go-to resource for contractors and homeowners on building materials, including product options, pricing and availability. Cross-train on every product line we sell, from lumber, decking and millwork to Benjamin Moore paint and specialty products. Build quotes and layouts using design and estimating software and take accurate field measurements for specialty products. Process orders and customer payments, and communicate scheduling and deliveries so jobs stay on track. Grow the business Build lasting relationships with existing customers and become the person they ask for by name. Find and follow up on new customers and sales leads. Partner with team members so every customer gets a seamless experience. Keep the operation running smoothly Prepare accurate, timely invoices, sales orders and purchase orders through the full sales cycle. Receive inventory and keep stock levels right on the sales floor, stockroom and warehouses. Pitch in on the yard and make deliveries when needed. We’re a team, and everyone helps out. Grow into our Benjamin Moore paint leader Paint is part of the job from day one. After you’ve trained across all of our building materials, you’ll have the opportunity to make paint your area of expertise and become Godsey’s Benjamin Moore product leader, the person customers, contractors and co-workers turn to for anything paint. Mix and tint paints and stains accurately, match colors, and recommend the right products, finishes and application methods for each job. Build deep knowledge of the products we carry, including paints, stains, coatings and sundries. Learn to manage paint inventory: track sales, set and maintain stock levels, and place orders so we have what customers need without overstocking. Keep the paint area organized, well-merchandised and stocked, and help train co-workers on paint products. Grow paint sales by building relationships with painting contractors and helping homeowners complete their projects. WHAT YOU BRING Must-haves 2+ years of experience in building materials sales, a lumberyard, millwork or a related trade. Solid working knowledge of residential and light commercial building materials, especially lumber and millwork.
