Inside Parts Counter Sales - Heavy Equipment

Help keep the equipment that builds Texas moving. ROMCO Equipment Company has supported Texas construction, infrastructure, and heavy-equipment customers since 1961. We’re looking for a customer-focused Inside Parts Counter Salesperson to join our North Texas team at our Carrollton branch. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows parts, enjoys helping customers, and can keep orders and inventory moving accurately and efficiently. You’ll work closely with customers, vendors, service, and sales while supporting leading heavy-equipment brands. ROMCO sells and supports equipment from manufacturers including Volvo and GOMACO . As part of SMT, ROMCO combines a strong Texas presence with the resources and support of a global equipment organization. What You’ll Do Help customers identify, order, and purchase the right parts at the counter and by phone. Process customer and vendor parts requests, sales orders, purchases, receiving, credits, and returns accurately and on time. Maintain and manage parts inventory, including physical counts and inventory adjustments. Purchase and expedite parts and materials to help meet customer needs. Receive, unload, stock, gather, and ship parts. Coordinate special returns, warranty-related shipments, and core returns to manufacturers. Reconcile invoices and purchases and maintain organized parts records. Keep the parts counter and warehouse clean, organized, and ready to serve customers. Partner with the service and sales teams as needed. Support day-to-day parts and warehouse activities and complete other duties as assigned. What We’re Looking For Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. Knowledge of heavy equipment, construction machinery, or related parts. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand customer parts needs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organization, attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to manage priorities and deadlines. Comfort with data entry, email, spreadsheets, and electronic parts inventory systems. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 5 years of previous counter sales experience. Schedule & Work Environment This position primarily works in an office and parts/warehouse environment. Standard office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. , with occasional needs outside normal business hours for meetings, training, or projects. Some travel may be required. The role may occasionally involve exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and loud noise. Physical Requirements This role regularly requires talking or hearing and frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, and using hands to handle materials. Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required. The position requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds . Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
