Independent 26' Box Truck Delivery Driver (Non-CDL)

Maverick Freight LLC is seeking experienced, dependable box truck drivers for residential and commercial delivery routes operating out of our Albany, NY hub. Routes consist primarily of flat-packed furniture, oversized merchandise, boxed furniture, appliances, and other household items. Drivers work alongside a delivery helper to safely transport, unload, and deliver merchandise to customers' homes and businesses. This position involves physically handling bulky merchandise, navigating residential delivery locations, and providing professional customer service. Responsibilities Safely operate a company-provided 26-foot box truck. Complete assigned residential and commercial delivery routes. Work alongside a delivery helper to load, unload, and deliver furniture, appliances, and oversized merchandise. Safely handle boxed and unassembled furniture, including large and heavy packages. Use dollies, hand trucks, liftgates, and other delivery equipment as needed. Deliver merchandise to designated customer delivery locations according to route requirements. Secure freight to prevent shifting or damage during transportation. Inspect merchandise for visible damage and accurately document delivery exceptions. Maintain accurate delivery records, including proof of delivery. Conduct basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel. Qualifications Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Prior experience operating 26-foot box trucks strongly preferred. Experience with furniture, appliance, or oversized merchandise delivery preferred. Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate required, as applicable to the vehicle and operation. English Language Proficiency: Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to understand road signs, communicate with customers and officials, follow delivery instructions, and complete required documentation. Pre-engagement drug screening required under company policy. Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver heavy or bulky merchandise with assistance and appropriate equipment. Comfortable navigating stairs, entryways, and residential delivery locations. Reliable transportation to the Albany hub. Strong attendance, communication, and customer-service skills. Ability to safely maneuver bulky merchandise weighing 50+ pounds, with team assistance and appropriate equipment. Ability to work Monday - Saturday as required Compensation & Position Details Base Compensation: $210 per completed route, with opportunities for increased compensation based on experience and performance. Sixth-Day Bonus: Additional $60 for completing a sixth qualifying route day within the same Monday–Sunday workweek. Potential Weekly Earnings: $1,050–$1,320 with 5–6 completed routes, including the sixth-day bonus, subject to route availability. Residential and commercial delivery routes involving furniture, appliances, and oversized merchandise. Two-person delivery team consisting of a driver and helper. Company-provided 26-foot box truck and delivery equipment; no CDL required if the assigned vehicle is legally non-CDL. Consistent route opportunities based on customer demand.
