Drivers deliver fresh and frozen groceries to supermarkets and distribution centers throughout the Hudson Valley, NYC boroughs, Long Island, CT, and PA. This is a steady local position with strong activity-based pay, modern equipment, and mostly no-touch freight. Pay and earnings $0.68 - $0.74 per mile Average weekly pay: $1,600 - $1,700 Annualized earnings: about $83,600 - $87,600 $28.50 - $30 per stop $62.50 per NYC load $50 truck move pay $15 per hour detention pay Benefits Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) retirement plan Life insurance Short- and long-term disability coverage Paid time off Schedule and home time Local routes, Home daily Operates within a 250 mile radius of Chester, NY Delivery area includes Hudson Valley NY, the 5 NYC boroughs, Long Island, CT, and PA Only 20 - 25% of freight delivers in NYC Drivers must have reliable personal transportation to and from work daily Daycabs cannot be taken home during time off What you’ll haul Fresh and frozen grocery freight Reefer trailers in 48 foot, 51 foot, and 53 foot sizes Deliveries to supermarkets and distribution centers Multi-stop loads, usually 15+ stops per week Drivers normally complete 2 loads per day or 1 long load Return product pickup at the final stop or backhaul returning to the DC Mostly no-touch freight Equipment Automatic and manual daycabs Reefer trailers Slip-seat equipment; the account will try to keep drivers in the same truck, but trucks are shared with a driver on the opposite shift No guarantee of the same truck Trucks average 3 years or newer Trucks remain at the account facility during time off What we need Valid Class A CDL Minimum 3 - 6 months of trucking experience Comfortable with multi stop grocery deliveries Willing to operate in NYC boroughs and Long Island after required training Able to provide personal transportation to and from work
