HR and Recruiting Specialist – Transportation & Logistics
GISJob Summary We are seeking a dynamic and proactive HR and Recruiting Specialist with a focus on Transportation and Logistics to join our team. In this role, you will drive talent acquisition initiatives, manage full-cycle recruiting processes, and develop strategic staffing solutions tailored to the transportation and logistics sector. Responsibilities Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts for transportation and logistics roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates. Utilize talent management software and applicant tracking systems (ATS) such as Workday, iCIMS, or Taleo to streamline recruitment workflows. Develop innovative sourcing strategies through social media marketing (recruitment), cold calling, research, and leveraging talent pools to fill high-volume roles efficiently. Manage external recruiting channels and build relationships with staffing agencies, universities, and industry networks for campus recruitment initiatives. Conduct employment law compliance checks related to labor laws in talent management and ensure adherence to HR legal standards throughout the hiring process. Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, craft compelling job descriptions, and negotiate offers that align with company policies. Support employee orientation programs, employee relations efforts, and succession planning activities to foster a positive work environment. Skills Proven expertise in full cycle recruiting, technical recruiting, and high-volume recruitment within the transportation & logistics industry. Strong negotiation skills combined with excellent communication skills to engage candidates and internal teams effectively. Proficiency in HR systems such as Workday, Kronos, UltiPro, Paychex, ADP, or PeopleSoft for HRIS management. Experience with talent acquisition tools like Lever, iCIMS, Kenexa BrassRing or Taleo for candidate sourcing and applicant tracking. Knowledge of employment & labor law applicable to talent management in multiple jurisdictions; ability to ensure HR legal compliance. Skilled in social media management (recruitment), lead generation techniques, research methods for candidate sourcing, and HR legal standards. Ability to manage relationships across departments and external partners while maintaining a strategic focus on talent management goals. Familiarity with training & development programs aimed at onboarding new hires and supporting ongoing employee growth within the transportation sector.
