Hotshot Owner Operator

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Hotshot Owner Operator, where you will be the driving force behind expedited freight delivery using your own tractor-trailer. This role offers the opportunity to operate specialized equipment, including refrigerated trailers and flatbeds, on over-the-road (OTR) routes. As an independent owner-operator, you’ll enjoy the freedom of managing your own schedule while delivering critical cargo efficiently and safely. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, logistics cargo handling, and compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations will ensure seamless operations and satisfied clients. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, or specialized equipment, on OTR routes across various regions. Load and unload freight with precision, adhering to safety standards and proper manual handling techniques. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries while optimizing fuel efficiency. Transport hazardous materials and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in accordance with FMCSA and DOT regulations. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and coordinate maintenance to ensure optimal performance of your equipment. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and emergency responders when necessary to coordinate deliveries or address issues promptly. Skills Proven experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized trucks in a commercial driving environment. Strong knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations. Skilled in route planning using GPS navigation systems for efficient delivery execution. Expertise in manual transmission truck driving and manual handling for cargo loading/unloading processes. Familiarity with logistics cargo handling procedures for freight including freight loading/unloading and securing loads properly. Experience with delivery driving on OTR routes involving long-distance travel across multiple states or regions. Ability to operate additional equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks when required for specific cargo types like roll-off trucks or freight containers.
