We are hiring CDL-A drivers for a local grocery delivery operation delivering dry groceries to supermarkets and distribution centers. Drivers run multi-stop routes with a strong focus on NYC borough deliveries and lift-gate-equipped trailers. This is a steady local position with strong activity-based pay, newer equipment, and daily home time. Pay and earnings $0.50 - $0.52 per mile Average weekly pay: $1,700 - $2,000 $47.50 per NYC stop $30 per lift-gate stop $17.50 per drop-and-hook $17.25 per live stop Benefits Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Paid time off beginning on day one Life insurance options Mental health and disability benefits Schedule and home time Local grocery routes, Home daily Drivers should plan to deliver in NYC boroughs daily Multi-stop loads, usually 2 - 3 stops per trailer Drivers normally complete 1 long load per day, occasionally followed by a shorter load if hours allow Drivers must provide their own transportation to and from the account Trucks cannot be taken home during time off What you’ll haul Dry grocery freight 45-foot, 48-foot, 51-foot, and 53-foot trailers Deliveries to supermarkets and distribution centers NYC deliveries will use lift-gate-equipped trailers Return product pickup at the final stop or backhaul returning to the DC Mostly no-touch freight, with driver unload required when needed Equipment Automatic daycabs Trucks average approximately 3 years or newer Lift gate trailers for NYC deliveries Electric pallet jack provided for driver unload Slip seat equipment; the account will try to keep drivers in the same truck, but trucks are shared with a driver on the opposite shift No guarantee of the same truck Trucks remain at the account facility during time off What we need Valid Class A CDL Minimum 3 - 6 months of trucking experience Comfortable operating in NYC boroughs Willing to unload freight using an electric pallet jack when needed Comfortable with lift gate deliveries Able to provide personal transportation to and from work
