Home Care Scheduler & Dispatcher
New Day HomecareFull job description About Us At New Day Homecare, our mission is simple: turning care into brighter tomorrows. We provide compassionate, high-quality homecare and facility support across Alberta. We treat our people better than the industry norm—paying higher wages, offering real benefits, and maintaining a supportive, management team. Because we invest heavily in our team, our staff stay with us long-term. As our operational volume continues to grow, we are looking for a dedicated scheduling professional to join our core administrative team. Position Overview We are seeking a highly reliable, tech-savvy Part-Time Home Care Scheduler & Dispatcher to manage scheduling and field operations for our entire multidisciplinary team (Nurses, Field Supervisors, and Health Care Aides). This role operates on a true hybrid model —you will split your time between our Edmonton headquarters and your home office. Our management philosophy is simple: we give you complete autonomy over your daily environment, but in return, we expect an incredible work ethic and absolute trust. Because home care does not stop at 5:00 PM, this role requires deep operational ownership. Your company dispatch phone/laptop must be on you 24/7. Whether you are working from home or it is after business hours, if a team member calls out sick or a client has an emergency, you must be ready to answer the call and resolve the staffing gap immediately. As our client hours scale over the coming months, this part-time role is designed to transition into a permanent full-time position. Key Responsibilities Create, update, and maintain weekly schedules for all field staff, ensuring optimal matches between client care plans and team availability. Work seamlessly between your home office and our Edmonton headquarters for team collaboration and administrative duties. Keep the company dispatch phone/laptop on you 24/7 to act as the primary point of contact for all field staff and clients. Rapidly resolve daily staff call-outs, emergency coverage requests, and shift changes to prevent service interruptions. Review electronic visit verifications (EVV) daily to ensure accurate billing and payroll data. Maintain professional, empathetic communication with clients, families, and all levels of healthcare staff. Qualifications & Requirements 1–2+ years of experience in healthcare scheduling, medical office administration, dispatch, or care coordination. Trust & Work Ethic: You thrive under autonomy and do not need to be micromanaged. You possess an "always on" mindset and are deeply reliable when it comes to answering texts or calls outside of standard business hours. Fully fluent in English with exceptional verbal and written communication skills (Required). Tech-savvy and comfortable navigating scheduling software platforms from a home office or HQ. Bonus: Direct experience using AxisCare scheduling software is a massive asset and will be prioritized in hiring and compensation. Reliable transportation to commute to our Edmonton office for your scheduled in-office days. Why Join New Day Homecare? Autonomy & Respect: We don't micromanage. We give you the freedom to work independently, trusting your strong work ethic to get the job done. True Hybrid Balance: Enjoy the flexibility of working from home while staying connected with our leadership team during in-office days. Clear Career Growth: This role starts part-time but will grow into a full-time central scheduling position as we expand across Alberta. Above-average hourly pay with compensation reflective of AxisCare experience. How to Apply Apply directly through Indeed with your resume. Please include a brief cover letter or note explaining why a hybrid model driven by autonomy, trust, and a 24/7 on-call lifestyle works perfectly for you, and explicitly mention if you have AxisCare experience.
