Heavy Equipment Hauler / Truck Driver
COWIN EQUIPMENTResponsible for safely loading/unloading, securing and delivering equipment marketed by CEC. Responsible for making sure all units are tagged properly. Responsible for start-up and review of equipment with customers on site. Responsible for completing necessary forms required by DOT and CEC. This job requires twisting, lifting, climbing, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, bending and walking. This could entail twisting several times per day, climbing on trucks, construction equipment and work platforms. This job requires working with hazardous materials on occasion such as (but not limited to) fuels, oils and solvents. Must be able to drive fork trucks. This job requires lifting and carrying heavy suction and discharge hoses and other accessories used with rental equipment. Pushing and pulling is required in loading and unloading rental equipment and accessories. Must work and walk over a variety of different surfaces, i.e. gravel, concrete and dirt. Job requires climbing on work platforms and catwalks, as needed. This job requires lifting and carrying tools, parts and components that range in weight from 1 – 150 lbs. Must follow all driving rules in CEC driving CPM and obey all traffic laws during the time a CEC vehicle is being driven. Must know and comply with all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Some overnight stays and out of town trips will be required at various times as dictated by customer needs. Must have a positive and pleasant attitude. Primary Job Duties: Reports directly to Rental Manager for all job responsibilities. Responsible for safely loading and securing equipment on truck for delivery. Responsible for safely unloading equipment, and insuring units are properly secured on site. Responsible for daily inspections of vehicle and trailer. A pre-trip inspection report is to be turned in to Rn Manager daily. Responsible when unloading equipment at jobsite, for starting machine and inspecting machine in general. Responsible for reviewing with each customer the proper start-up, operation, maintenance, and safety of equipment, along with any other necessary requirements. This task is not complete until the customer is comfortable with the procedure. Responsible for getting proper signatures on documents upon delivery of equipment to customer. Responsible for maintaining a clean truck and trailer; including normal servicing and repairs to tractor and trailer. Responsible for completing daily log of trips and mileage, and keeping all federal regulations requirements (relating to safety and vehicle inspections) current. Responsible for working closely with the Rn Mgr to ensure all weight permits, tags, decals, etc are current and all loads hauled are legal by weight, height, and width according to truck size. This also includes the use of escorts, flags, etc. Responsible for reporting to Rn Mgr any situation where our machinery is being misused, abused and/or used in an unsafe manner. Responsible for reporting to Rn Mgr any unusual situations, complaints or dissatisfaction expressed by customer and/or any possible sales or rental leads. Responsible for any misc duties to ensure CEC trucks and trailers are operated in a legal and safe manner. Because of direct customer contact and the necessity to work closely with co-workers, a positive and pleasant attitude is essential and anything less will not be acceptable. Act as a back-up in the rental office, as needed by the Rental Mgr. Secondary Job Duties: When not assigned a trip, servicing/cleaning tractor and trailer, or completing paperwork each truck driver must assist in yard management and/or assist in maintenance of equipment. Works with other department personnel in order to assist them with rental information as required. Performs any other duties as assigned by the Rental Mgr.
