Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic - EXPERIENCE A MUST

HEAVY DUTY DIESEL MECHANIC Department: Shop Status: Full Time Base Rate: $40-$50 (rate based on EXPERIENCE) Work Schedule: Mon-Fri: Day Shift Benefits: 1st of the month following 60 days Reports To: Equipment Maintenance Manager Travel: Required to travel 10% of the time The Opportunity Mechanics will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing various types of equipment in multiple locations as needed. Must have clean driving records for insurance purposes and possess a valid DL. What You'll Do Electrical charging/ starting/ lighting Diagnosis of mechanical/ hydraulic problems Testing/ repairing air brakes systems Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing. Maintains equipment functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems. Repair any mechanical issues with different equipment such as pump trucks, compressors and forklifts What We're Looking For 3-5 years of experience required Must have a good driving record*** CLEAR driving records for insurance purposes Must have valid California Driver License class C DL Class A or B a plus! Experience and considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of heavy equipment, other power driven equipment and tools Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions Ability to analyze and repair mechanical failures Ability to work effectively and establish good working relationships with other employees Physical Requirements Employees are required to remain on his or her feet in an upright position for continuous periods of time. Employees are required to remain sitting in an upright position for continuous periods of time. Employees are required to walk considerable distances in the facility and on job site. Employees are required to raise or lower objects from one level to another regularly during the shift 50 to 100 pounds. Employees are required, on a regular basis, to carry objects over 80 pounds. Employees require, on a regular basis, to push and pull 80 pounds. Employees regularly pick objects with fingers. Employees are regularly required to use the hands and arms to reach for objects.
