Orders Grocery goods and maintains appropriate stock.
Follows outlined procedures, including proper rotation and overstocking practices.
Handles all product in a safe and organized manner.
Confirms product dates and pulls all expired product daily; rotates and stocks throughout shift.
Scans and properly disposes of all shrink for the Grocery dry goods sub-department.
Maintains accurate and consistent records of items bought, costs, deliveries, product performance, daily shrink totals, and inventories.
Coordinates with the Category Manager to ensure accurate Grocery costs and prices in system.
Assists in ensuring appropriate signage is present throughout Grocery.
Utilizes resources to price products according to established margins.
Utilizes internal movement reports to ensure offerings meet customer needs.
Researches competition and conducts monthly price comparisons at nearby competitors’ stores.
Follows external market trends to anticipate customer needs.
Evaluates vendors and negotiates based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
Evaluates and monitors contracts to ensure vendors comply with the agreed terms.
Communicates with staff and vendors regarding miss-picks or defective product; secures credits.
Assists in maintaining neatness and cleanliness throughout Grocery, especially the dry goods area.
Meets or exceeds efficiency standards set and reviewed by management.
Protects store assets by participating in periodic inventory, following established security practices/policies, and handling injuries/incidents to minimize store liability.
Helps to develop and execute remerchandising plans that aim to drive sales and increase labor efficiency.
Maintains a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
Supports co-op core values and aligns with the Co-op Code of Conduct.
Provides prompt, knowledgeable service and assists in finding items or identifying prices.
Builds and maintains customer satisfaction with the products and services offered by the co-op.

Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
A minimum of one (1) year’s experience in a retail environment.
A minimum of one (1) year’s experience and familiarity with natural foods.
Supports the co-op’s core values and aligns with the Co-op Code of Conduct.
Adapts readily based on evolving co-op needs or in response to feedback.
Maintains composure in highly stressful or adverse situations.
Computer proficiency and familiarity with MS Office Suite.
POS and receiving systems experience strongly preferred. Catapult experience a strong plus.
ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Flexibility to work any shift, including mornings, middays, evenings, weekends.
Ability to work in varying temperatures (approximately 20°F – 90°F).
Ability to stand or sit for long periods at a time.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and climb.
