General Warehouse Worker - Cold Storage

General Summary This position utilizes knowledge of a variety of production duties, handling product, visual sorting or inspection, packing or performing other operations that can be learned on-the-job in a short time. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs related work and other job assignments as required. Must be able to work in Multi-temperature environments. Work requires frequent moving on highly repetitive short-cycle production line. Frequent exertion of moderate to heavy physical effort. Work is typically performed while standing and may include walking some of the time. Must understand and follow all of the QA standards set forth by the customer. Performs related work and other job assignments as required or requested by Warehouse Supervisor. Ability to follow demonstrated directions. Incumbents may use pallet jacks to move material in the work area. Keeps work area clean and performs housekeeping duties as required. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of general warehouse practices, terminology, and documents. Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Basic math skills. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to safely and efficiently operate various types of Material Handling Equipment. Flexibility to work any/all shifts. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Ability to effectively use warehouse management system. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs. The position requires standing & walking for extended periods of time. Work in cold and extremely cold environments for extended periods (freezer and cold storage facilities).
