Furniture Donation Associate

Position Title: F urniture Donation Associate Reports to: Store Manager Status: Part-Time Location: 1600 S. Calhoun St., Fort Wayne, IN 46802 Salary: Commensurate with Experience Job Description: The Furniture Donation Associate will be responsible for assisting with store furniture operations to help those in need within the Fort Wayne community. The person in this role will be a key member of the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store team, ensuring high levels of donor and client satisfaction through excellent service. He/she will support the St. Vincent de Paul Society in its mission to alleviate poverty by offering hope as well as help to all, treating everyone with dignity and respect. Responsibilities: Assist with daily furniture pick-up/delivery operations, including driving the box truck, loading/unloading furniture donations, scheduling, reminder calls, and route planning as needed Follow all safety protocols regarding operation of vehicles, situational awareness, loading/unloading procedures, proper securing of furniture items, appropriate lifting techniques, and vehicle maintenance Provide excellent customer service to all donors and customers Assist with appropriate pricing of items in the furniture department Assist with recycling operations and mattress procurement, preparation, and inventory Maintain outstanding furniture area condition including safety, security, and appealing visual merchandising standards Provide creative ideas to promote the furniture department Help supervise volunteers in the furniture department Support managers and associates in other departments as needed Promote the mission, vision, and values of the St. Vincent de Paul Society Skills: Excellent driving record with the ability to drive a box truck and do furniture lifting as needed Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work both individually and in a team environment Strong work ethic Qualifications: Truck driving and/or furniture moving experience preferred Minimum high school diploma or equivalency Valid Driver’s License (CDL not required) Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour Benefits: Flexible schedule Paid time off People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply Application Question(s): Do you have a valid driver's license?
