Responsibilities Safely operate delivery vehicles, including box trucks and personal vehicles, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or hand trucks. Plan and follow efficient delivery routes using mobile devices to ensure timely arrivals at customer locations. Provide exceptional customer service by delivering packages with professionalism, friendliness, and a positive attitude. Conduct safety checks on vehicles before each shift and perform routine maintenance or report issues promptly. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for each route completed. Follow safe lifting practices during manual handling of packages weighing various amounts, ensuring compliance with workplace weight handling guidelines. Qualifications Previous warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is preferred. Proven delivery driver experience with a clean driving record; commercial driving or courier background is highly advantageous. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles such as box trucks or vans confidently. Experience with moving, manual handling, and heavy lifting while following safe lifting practices. Knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and route driving best practices to ensure safety on the road. Comfort using mobile devices for navigation and communication during deliveries. Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients. Valid driver’s license suitable for commercial or personal vehicle operation; ability to adhere to all safety standards including weight handling in the workplace.
