The Opportunity Sunshine Division is looking for a dependable, hands-on Fulfillment Warehouse Assistant to help keep our warehouse organized, safe, and ready to serve families across the Portland metro area. This part-time role is a great fit for someone who enjoys active work, takes pride in teamwork, and wants their daily effort to support a meaningful community mission. What You’ll Be Doing Help maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized warehouse. Receive, unload, verify, organize, and stage donated and purchased food products. Pick, pack, palletize, and stage orders for distribution to programs, partners, and agencies. Assist with inventory counts, spot checks, documentation, and food drive records. Operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts and pallet jacks; training may be provided. Support volunteer events by helping set up workstations, materials, and safety instructions. Handle recycling, cardboard, trash, and general warehouse clean-up tasks. Drive organization vehicles, including box trucks and vans, for pickups and deliveries as needed. Follow food safety, traffic, DOT, OSHA, warehouse, and vehicle safety requirements. Promptly report safety hazards, equipment issues, vehicle concerns, damage, or incidents. Pitch in with other warehouse and fulfillment duties as assigned. What You Bring We’re looking for a reliable team member who communicates well, works safely, pays attention to detail, and enjoys contributing to a fast-moving, mission-driven environment. High school diploma or GED required. At least one year of related warehouse experience preferred; equivalent training or experience may be considered. Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and access to automobile liability coverage or an insured vehicle required. Forklift operator certification required; Sunshine Division may provide training and certification if not already held. Ability to safely lift, move, carry, push, pull, bend, stand, and work in an active warehouse environment. You’ll Succeed Here If You Are Safety-minded and comfortable following warehouse, food safety, and driving procedures. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to keep accurate records. Team-oriented and able to build positive relationships with staff, volunteers, donors, and partners. Flexible and able to shift priorities in a busy warehouse environment. A clear communicator who can support volunteers and work well with others. Comfortable using basic Microsoft Office or similar programs. Work Environment & Physical Requirements This position is active and hands-on. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties. Regularly moves around the warehouse and may spend extended periods standing, lifting, carrying, bending, stretching, squatting, or reaching. Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and may push or pull up to 2,500 pounds using an electric pallet jack. Works in a non-climate-controlled warehouse with seasonal temperature changes and a typically loud noise level.
