Fulfillment & Mailing Manager
BonaciaHelp build our Nashville operation We’re opening our first dedicated US fulfillment site and looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, solving problems and taking responsibility for getting things done. Initially, you’ll be the only employee on site—receiving deliveries, checking stock, labeling and packing books, and arranging shipments. Alongside the daily work, you’ll establish the processes, supplies and local relationships needed to keep the operation running well. You’ll help recruit and train a small team, with the first colleague expected in January 2027 and three colleagues by September. Hands-on fulfillment will remain a regular part of your role as the team grows. About us Bonorbis Inc is part of Bonacia, an established UK publishing and printing business. Through Young Writers and Young Artists, we help children enjoy writing and art, publishing their work in printed anthologies. We’ve served US schools since 2017 and are opening our Nashville site to fulfill orders locally and bring more activities in-house. What you’ll do Running daily fulfillment Personally receiving deliveries, checking quantities and condition, and keeping stock organized and accurately recorded. Labeling, packing and preparing book orders for shipment. Using shipping systems to produce labels, arrange collections and track orders through USPS and commercial carriers. Keeping packaging materials and other supplies available so work can continue without avoidable delays. Establishing and improving how the site works Setting up practical workflows for receiving, storing, preparing and shipping orders. Setting clear expectations for pace and accuracy, checking progress and taking action early when work is falling behind. Introducing straightforward procedures and quality checks that prevent errors and make work easier to follow. Finding practical ways to improve efficiency, reduce waste and control costs. Looking after the facility Opening and closing the site, checking security and managing access. Coordinating local suppliers, contractors, utilities and building or equipment maintenance. Building and managing a small team Helping recruit your first colleague, expected to join in January 2027, with the team expected to grow to three colleagues by September 2027. Training employees in the work, equipment, safety procedures and quality standards. Organizing daily tasks and coverage around changing workloads. Giving clear feedback, supporting development and addressing performance issues. What you’ll bring You’ll have practical experience in fulfillment, shipping, mailing, warehouse operations or light production, alongside experience supervising and training people. We’re looking for someone who has personally done the work, understands shipping systems and carriers, and can give examples of improving processes and meeting deadlines. You’ll be comfortable making day-to-day decisions, taking ownership of problems and communicating clearly with colleagues based overseas. Experience running a small operation or taking broad responsibility within a fulfillment team would be particularly relevant. New-site setup, printing or mail-inserting experience would be helpful, but isn’t essential. What’s in it for you? This is your chance to put your stamp on our Nashville operation! From setting up the space and finding better ways to work to choosing and developing your team, you’ll help shape the site from day one. You’ll have the freedom to make day-to-day decisions, try out ideas and see the difference your work makes—with our UK team there to support you along the way.
