FTZ & Customs Project Coordinator

The FTZ & Customs Project Coordinator manages Foreign-Trade Zone, bonded, and customs activity across a portfolio of 20 or more concurrent projects, covering both FTZ and commercial workflows. This is an individual contributor role based in Conroe, Texas, reporting to the FTZ Manager. The role is designed for someone with a strong U.S. customs and import background who can apply it in a project-driven environment. FTZ or bonded experience is preferred. The company will train on its own systems, procedures, and specific FTZ practices, but not on core customs or import concepts, which are expected on arrival. FTZ and Customs Operations Support FTZ operations under the direction of the FTZ Manager, including zone admissions, transfers, and withdrawals Prepare, review, and track customs and FTZ documentation, including CBP Forms 214, 3461, 7501, and 7512, in coordination with customs brokers Review Arrival Notices, monitor customs clearance, and provide Delivery Orders and required documents to warehouses and carriers Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and warehouse personnel on FTZ, bonded, and standard import shipments Maintain accurate records of FTZ and bonded movements to support compliance with CBP requirements and audit readiness Investigate and resolve documentation and shipment discrepancies, and escalate compliance concerns to the FTZ Manager promptly Systems, Records, and Data Integrity Maintain shipment, inventory, and project data in Microsoft Dynamics, including packing slips, loaded quantities, and delivered quantities Reconcile FTZ and bonded inventory records against system data and shipment documentation Record and report zone activity in the company's FTZ software. General familiarity with FTZ software is expected Build and maintain project trackers, delivery reports, and templates in Excel Project Coordination Manage assigned projects from shipment release through final customer delivery Develop and maintain project schedules based on material readiness, vessel and container arrival dates, warehouse capacity, and customer requirements Track international and domestic shipments and keep project trackers and delivery reports current Communicate regularly with internal teams and customers, including weekly delivery updates Require carriers and vendors to provide timely status updates, and escalate delays or service issues immediately Work with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Production, Warehouse, and Compliance to resolve project issues Support project closeout by confirming final deliveries, outstanding invoices, and completion of logistics activities Support continuous improvement of trackers, templates, SOPs, and reporting tools Supplemental Logistics Duties Coordinate final-mile trucking, loading schedules, delivery appointments, and customer site requirements Prepare and distribute Bills of Lading, delivery schedules, and shipping instructions Lead project kickoff meetings with customers Review logistics invoices against agreed rates, services performed, and purchase orders, and work with vendors and Finance on discrepancies, credits, and claims Monitor transportation costs and identify unnecessary detention, demurrage, storage, or accessorial charges Requirements 3 or more years of experience in U.S. customs and import operations, customs brokerage, or trade compliance Working knowledge of U.S. import clearance and CBP do…
