Overview Join our dynamic team as a Front Load Garbage Truck Driver and play a vital role in maintaining clean, healthy communities through efficient waste collection. Responsibilities Safely operate front loader trucks to collect municipal waste according to designated routes. Load and unload waste containers efficiently using front-end loaders or manual methods, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials regulations when applicable. Follow all traffic laws, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and state transportation regulations during route driving. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure mechanical soundness and compliance with safety protocols. Maintain accurate logs of daily routes, loads, and disposal activities; complete shift reports promptly. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding route changes or safety concerns. Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer's questions or concerns professionally while maintaining a positive attitude. Requirements Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL B) with experience operating front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, or roll-off trucks preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving with knowledge of traffic laws and safety protocols. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically handle waste containers safely. Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations and solid waste management practices. Demonstrated defensive driving skills and adherence to safety standards at all times. Outdoor work experience in various weather conditions; comfortable working in physically demanding environments.
