Front End Loader/ Forklift Operator
American Precast StructuresThe Forklift/Loader Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts, front-end loaders, and other equipment used to support material handling and production operations within the plant. This position transports, loads, unloads, and processes materials while maintaining a strong focus on safety, productivity, and proper equipment operation. Primary Responsibilities Safely operate industrial forklifts, front-end loaders, and other assigned material-handling equipment. Identify, transport, load, unload, and stage materials to and from machines, loading areas, trucks, storage areas, and designated locations. Obtain and follow production schedules, shipping orders, and work instructions to identify, verify, and transport raw materials, equipment, and processing materials as needed. Operate equipment in accordance with load capacities, production schedules, and established safety procedures. Load and unload materials safely and efficiently while following proper handling and storage requirements. Manage and organize drums, skids, pallets, raw materials, and other supplies in designated areas. Operate the plant's core machine and assist with material processing and production activities as assigned. Assist with measuring materials and placements using a tape measure or other basic measuring tools. Use protective materials, strapping, and other securing equipment to properly protect and secure loads during transportation. Remove strapping, wrapping, and other packaging materials after delivery and dispose of waste in designated containers or areas. Perform routine equipment inspections and basic servicing as required. Report mechanical, electrical, or operational issues and other equipment concerns to the appropriate supervisor or mechanic. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all housekeeping requirements. Follow all company safety policies, site procedures, and PPE requirements. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisors or management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred, but not required. Valid forklift certification required. Valid driver's license required. Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a forklift, front-end loader, or similar heavy equipment required. Experience operating heavy equipment in outdoor or heavy-terrain environments preferred. Experience operating a core machine or similar production equipment preferred. Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic measurement tasks. Demonstrated ability to safely operate equipment and follow written and verbal instructions. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods. Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, and reaching. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. May be exposed to dust, dirt, noise, and other typical plant conditions. May be required to work outdoors and be exposed to varying weather conditions. Must be able to safely work around moving equipment, vehicles, and heavy materials. Overtime, weekends, and varying work schedules may be required.
