Freight Broker
ABarton LLCSeeking a motivated Freight Broker. Experience is preferred, not required. We are looking for someone with strong initiative, a willingness to learn, and the ability to build relationships and take ownership of shipments from start to finish. An existing book of business would be a big plus. Responsibilities Prospect, contact, and secure new shipper customers. Build and maintain customer relationships to generate repeat business. Quote freight, negotiate customer rates, and manage load profitability. Source qualified carriers, verify carrier eligibility, negotiate rates, and book loads. Prepare rate confirmations and communicate pickup, delivery, and shipment requirements. Track shipments from pickup through delivery and provide timely customer updates. Resolve delays, missed appointments, and other shipment issues. Collect proof of delivery and required paperwork, verify charges, and close out loads accurately. Coordinate with admin as needed to complete loads in the system. Maintain accurate customer, carrier, and shipment records in the transportation management system. Qualifications Freight brokerage or transportation experience preferred, but not required. An existing book of business is a big plus. Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong sales, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills. Willingness to learn freight markets, carrier sourcing, and transportation operations. Comfortable using or learning load boards and transportation management systems. Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities and follow through on customer commitments.
