Forklift Operator / Warehouse Associate

New Century Countertops fabricates and installs granite, quartz and other natural and engineered stone countertops. We're looking for a Forklift Operator / Warehouse Associate to handle all material movement in our shop and keep our warehouse clean, organized and running smoothly. You'll work closely with our saw operators, fabricators and installers to keep production on schedule. Pay: $18 to $25 per hour, based on experience Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. You may occasionally be asked to stay later to unload trucks. Job Type: Full-time Benefits: Health insurance, paid vacation, paid holidays Key Responsibilities Material Handling Safely move and transport stone slabs using forklifts and other material-handling equipment. Load and unload trucks and storage racks, making sure slabs are properly secured to prevent damage. Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for cracks, defects or inconsistencies. Stage materials for cutting and fabrication, including loading the trailer each day with slabs for the next day's cuts. Move full slabs from the carport and remnants from the shop back to the warehouse. Take empty A-frames to the shop. Return slabs to their place after customer viewings. Work with saw operators, fabricators and shop supervisors to meet production schedules. Remnants Move, organize and put away remnants, and keep track of where each one is stored. Return remnants to their place by the end of the day after customer viewings. Warehouse Upkeep Keep the warehouse clean, organized and free of hazards, including sweeping and taking out trash. Wipe down slabs and photograph materials as needed. Inventory and restock sinks. Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and PPE requirements. Perform basic maintenance and inspections on material-handling equipment. Qualifications & Skills Forklift experience preferred. We will train and certify the right candidate. Experience in material handling, warehouse operations or stone fabrication preferred. Able to safely lift 50 to 75 lbs and work with heavy materials. Familiarity with granite, quartz and natural stone is a plus. Strong attention to detail and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Committed to safety and best practices in material handling.
