Position Summary: Orca Specialty Foods Ltd. is seeking a Forklift Operator – Shipping & Receiving to support our warehouse, shipping, receiving, and material-handling operations. Reporting to the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, loading, unloading, storage, and handling of products and materials. Main Responsibilities Operate a forklift safely and efficiently to move products and materials within the warehouse and shipping/receiving areas. Load and unload trucks using a forklift and other material-handling equipment. Move, stack, and store products and materials in designated warehouse, cooler, and freezer areas. Retrieve products and materials as required for shipping, production, and warehouse operations. Assemble orders and prepare pallets, including packing, wrapping, and labelling. Inspect incoming and outgoing products and materials for quantity and condition. Assist with receiving deliveries and preparing outgoing shipments. Assist with inventory counts and stock organization. Maintain safe and organized warehouse, cooler, freezer, and shipping/receiving areas. Communicate with truck drivers regarding deliveries and pickups. Follow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and safe material-handling practices. Perform other related material-handling and warehouse duties as required. Qualifications & Requirements Valid forklift certification. Previous hands-on forklift operating experience required. Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or material-handling experience is an asset. Ability to operate a forklift safely and competently. No specific educational credential required. Basic computer skills. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in wet, cold, cooler, and freezer environments. Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience is an asset. Forklift Practical Assessment: Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a brief practical forklift assessment to demonstrate their ability to operate a forklift safely and competently as part of the selection process.
