Forklift Operator/Material Handler

Forklift Operator Company: Hinton Lumber Products, LLC. Location: Summerville, SC Job Type: Full-time Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour Schedule: Monday–Saturday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM; overtime required About Us Hinton Lumber has been building quality wood pallets for a variety of industries since 1973. What You’ll Do Operate a forklift in a busy production environment, moving pallets/finished goods into staging areas and delivering materials to workstations around the production equipment Keep production lines supplied so the operation runs smoothly with minimal downtime Stack, sort, and stage lumber neatly and safely according to grade, size, and order requirements Load and unload trucks as needed Perform daily pre-shift forklift inspections and report any maintenance issues Keep the production floor and, organized, clean, and free of hazards Follow all company safety rules and OSHA guidelines Communicate with supervisors and production staff to prioritize material movement What We’re Looking For Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly throughout the shift Comfortable standing, bending, and working on your feet for a full shift Able to work in a warehouse environment that can be loud, dusty, and hot or cold depending on the season Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic Ability to follow instructions and work well with a team Must be at least 18 years old Basic math and measuring skills (reading a tape measure) Nice to Have (Not Required) Previous pallet, sawmill, lumber yard, or manufacturing experience Experience with nail guns, saws, or other power tools Forklift certification No experience? No problem. We provide on-the-job training for motivated people who show up ready to work.
