Job Overview Axanta Fence Supply – Sacramento, California Axanta Fence Supply is seeking an experienced Material Handler with strong knowledge of building materials, fence installation, metal fencing, gates, and construction-related products. Join our dynamic team as a Forklift Operator and Material Handler, where you will be the backbone of our warehouse operations! In this energetic role, you will operate various types of material handling equipment—including forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks—to efficiently load, unload, and move products within the warehouse. Your expertise in inventory management, shipping and receiving, and warehouse safety protocols will ensure smooth distribution processes. Responsibilities Safely operate forklift trucks, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and other material handling equipment to load and unload goods. Perform manual handling tasks such as lifting heavy materials and stacking pallets with precision and care. Assist in order picking processes to fulfill customer orders efficiently and accurately. Maintain proper storage of materials by organizing products on pallets and racks according to warehouse distribution standards. Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety compliance. Follow OSHA safety standards and warehouse safety protocols diligently during all tasks to prevent accidents or injuries. Support shipping & receiving activities by preparing shipments, verifying orders, and documenting inbound/outbound logistics. Utilize manual math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and calculations related to load capacities. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize warehouse operations and improve workflow efficiency. Experience Proven experience operating forklift trucks (including lift truck, reach truck, clamp truck) in a warehouse or distribution environment. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning for logistics tracking. Familiarity with warehouse safety standards such as OSHA regulations related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling. Experience in inventory management, order picking, shipping & receiving processes within a distribution center setting. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to manual handling guidelines. Prior warehouse supervisor experience or familiarity with warehouse management best practices is a plus but not required. Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and calculations related to logistics tasks. Join us in a role that keeps our supply chain moving smoothly!
