FLEET TECHNICIAN II

This position will be scheduled for the swing shift which is 11:00 am – 10:00 pm Monday – Thursday. SUMMARY Incumbents perform journey-level repairs and maintenance on a wide variety of automotive, small equipment, and heavy duty trucks and equipment. Incumbents assist Fleet Technicians III with fire pumpers and special apparatus equipment; and mentor Fleet Technicians I on solid waste vehicles, construction equipment, bucket trucks, and other heavy-duty applications. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED, and four years of journey level experience in the repair and maintenance of light duty/heavy duty vehicles OR two years of journey level experience in the repair and maintenance of light duty/heavy duty vehicles and completion of an accredited automotive or diesel training program at a trade school or community college. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Commercial Driver License (CDL), Class B or higher. Must have at time of hire EPA 609 A/C refrigerant handlers card (or obtain within 6 months of hire).
