Fleet Mechanic

Fleet Mechanic Location: North Tonawanda, NY Employment Type: Full-Time Pay Range: $20-$25/hr. Position Summary We are seeking a dependable Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair company vehicles. This is an opportunity for someone with automotive training and practical shop experience to build a long-term career with our company. The Fleet Mechanic will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical problems, complete repairs, and help keep company vehicles safe and reliable. Several years of experience are not required. Recent automotive program graduates with approximately one year of hands-on work experience are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication, and filter replacement. Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicle systems, including brakes, tires, steering, suspension, batteries, and related components. Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical and electrical problems. Identify and report conditions affecting vehicle safety or reliability. Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and parts used. Keep tools, equipment, and the work area clean and organized. Follow safe work practices when operating equipment, lifting vehicles, and handling automotive fluids. Qualifications Required: Automotive knowledge gained through technical education, employment, or a combination of both. Some hands-on experience performing vehicle maintenance and basic repairs. Ability to use common automotive hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment. Basic diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Dependability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe work. Willingness to learn unfamiliar systems and seek assistance when needed. Ability to communicate repair needs and document completed work. Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company requirements for operating company vehicles. Work Environment and Physical Requirements This position involves working in a shop environment around vehicles, tools, noise, and automotive fluids. Duties include standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and working beneath vehicles. The employee must be able to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, and use lifting equipment or assistance when appropriate.
