Role Description This full-time Fleet Maintenance Supervisor role at SpartanNash is an on-site position based in the Greater Columbus Area. The supervisor oversees daily maintenance operations for the transportation fleet, including scheduling and prioritizing repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance to ensure safe and reliable equipment. Responsibilities typically include supervising technicians, monitoring work quality, managing maintenance records, and coordinating with operations and logistics teams to minimize downtime. The role also involves managing parts inventory, working with external vendors and service providers, and helping ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. In addition, the supervisor may assist with budgeting for maintenance activities, identifying process improvements, and supporting training and development for maintenance staff. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in fleet or heavy equipment maintenance, including diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance planning. Supervisory or team leadership experience in a maintenance, logistics, or operations environment, with the ability to coach and develop staff. Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities and coordinate schedules and resources effectively. Knowledge of transportation safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., DOT, OSHA) and commitment to safe work practices. Ability to use maintenance management systems, basic office software, and digital tools for tracking work orders, inventory, and reporting. Effective communication skills for collaborating with technicians, drivers, operations leadership, and external vendors. Relevant technical training or certification in automotive or diesel technology; associate degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Experience in the grocery, distribution, or supply chain industry is a plus.
